Who We Are
Welcome to First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Orange,
California. We are a community of faithful Christians who seek every day
to discover once again the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives and in
our world. We are a progressive, open and affirming congregation with a
vibrant spirituality and deep commitment to social justice. We gather together as a community of faith to strengthen each other in bonds of love and fellowship. In this community of faith you can discover the hope and encouragement needed to meet the daily challenges of life. Here you can cultivate a joyous and meaningful relationship with God and Jesus Christ, and we will support you in all your efforts.
Symbolism
The
Chalice, the logo of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ),
includes the cross of St. Andrew, symbolizes the centrality of communion
at the Lord’s Table as part of each week’s worship, and the Scottish
Presbyterian roots of the denomination. Communion is open to all
believers. We are an Open and Affirming Congregation, Habitat for
Humanity and Stephen Ministry congregation, and work in cooperation with
the National and World Councils of Churches.
